sure but you know, bb botique skateboard uses a specialized firmware, and say I should not upgrade, which then causes vesc tool to act up, so I am now waiting again for them to tell me which exact version I need to use in hopes of it not acting up anymore. all this could have been avoided with proper documentation, to be fair no esk8 brand I have come across by now has delivered proper comprehensive service docs.
UPDATE: The latest VESC tool is now backwards compatible with firmware versions as old as 3.55. It will automatically load only the options compatible with that firmware. Because of this, it is recommended that you only use an older version listed here if you are certain of what you are doing.

BOUND ESC compatible with VESC vesc_tool_1.29 software and v3.65 firmware. BOUND ESC is based upon the VESC Open Source Project. if you have upgraded the firmware to v4.2, some functionality will be lost, such as speed mode switching and front-back direction switching. You need to downgrade the firmware to 3.65. This is a step by step guide to downgrade the firmware of your BOUND ESC with VESC tool.
Usually, the RST is useless, because VESC have no pin for controlling RST, and SWD port can work without reset, but in some time, SWD can't reset chip with SWDIO and SWDCLK only, in this time, we can try to reset chip manually, by short this RST pin to GND, then release it during we do SWD connection in vesc tool. try this several times, maybe it can save a bricked vesc. 2ff7e9595c
